Sardul Brar Farms is looking for four farmworkers. It is a seasonal but full-time employment opportunity.
The work might be repetitive since the crops need to be planted, harvested, and prepare for the market. Furthermore, it is a physically demanding job. It includes a combination of standing, sitting, kneeling, and crouching for long periods. Therefore, a fit and healthy person is required for the job.
Overtime is also required at times; therefore, someone who is flexible enough to extend the hours will be considered.
However, the employer does not discriminate based on race, religion, country of belonging. The requirement is English language skills and the ability to differentiate colors since the harvest of bell peppers requires color sorting. The decision will be based on the employer’s judgment of the suitability of the candidate.
Since the work is physically demanding and includes working with crops, it will be dusty, damp, noisy, and wet. Therefore, the working conditions are rough. The worker might also have to work during hot weather conditions.
Worker Duties and Responsibilities:
The main work is to harvest vegetables by hand, vegetable culling, and operating machinery. The machinery includes a farm truck, lift truck, and tractor. Prior experience in working with these machines will be preferable.
In the end, the product should be prepared to dispatch to the market after a quality check.
The primary products are melons, zucchinis, tomatoes, cherries, bell peppers, and apples. It is a combination of farming vegetables and fruits except potato farming.
No prior experience is required but is preferred. Working with farm machines would be preferable. No certificate, degree, or diploma is required for this job.
English language proficiency is required to apply.
Also, the worker should be legally permitted to work in Canada. Applicants who do not have the authorization to work in Canada will not be considered by the employer.
It pays $14.60/ hour for a 30 to 40-day week.
