ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Provide quality customer service in every position within Giant/Martins Food Stores. Each position serves its own group of customers, which may consist of consumers, co-workers, vendors and business Associates. As much care should be given to handling our internal customers, as the ultimate consumer. 2. Increase sales and profits through utilization of methods as outlined in profit plan. 3. Plan, organize, direct and control store activities utilizing delegation of duties to staff of assistants and department managers. 4. Assure that all store personnel are courteous to customers and that requests/complaints are handled promptly and courteously. 5. Ultimate responsibility for all cash accountability and accurate store bookkeeping. 6. Responsible for maximum utilization of store personnel through effective scheduling, counseling and evaluating programs, training programs, motivation, and supervision. 7. Act as a company representative both within store and within community. 8. Provide exceptionally friendly and courteous customer service. Must be able to answer questions, make recommendations and promote products through suggestive selling. 9. Dress according to company policy and maintain a neat, clean appearance at all times. 10. Maintains total store shrink. 11. Maintains pricing and signing integrity. 12. Responsible for Pharmacy operations. 13. Maintain a housekeeping program which insures an orderly, clean store that is pleasing to the customers eye. 14. Responsible for maintenance of prompt and accurate check-out service through proper supervision of front end personnel and cashier accuracy. 15. Maintain efficient and knowledgeable method of operation through regular department manager meetings. 16. Ensure all policies and procedures are being adhered to. 17. Maintain building and equipment in maximum operational condition. 18. Implement discount, price protection and signing programs. 19. Responsible for optimum freshness of merchandise to achieve maximum sales and profits. 20. Implement and maintain effective fire and safety program within store. 21. Implement and maintain effective security standards within store. 22. Ensure that all departments reflect a safe working environment. 23. Supervise the stores bulletin board to assure that all Federal & State and Company posters are displayed in a visible manner. Update all necessary notices which will ensure good management practices in all communications. 24. Maintain store personnel files. Ensure that all required personnel reports are completed regularly and are filed for reference.

Education:
University/Graduate
Skills Required:
Education (Minimum Needed): High School education (minimum requirement), with college background helpful but not required. 2. Experience (Minimum Needed): 3 5 years experience in supermarket industry, of progressively more responsibility with successful participation in a management training program. 3. Specialized Knowledge Needed For Performance of Job: Working knowledge of all aspects of store management and operations, as well as the ability to make decisions and provide effective leadership. 4. Special Skills: Strong communication & management/leadership skills, merchandising techniques, strong decision making skills, conflict management. 5. Other: Working knowlede of all store systems including POS, receiving, LMS, etc.
